The Cell IQ™ incubator is designed for demanding and regulated applications in the biomedical, pharmaceutical, medical research and clinical laboratory. With a new touchscreen control panel that delivers improved usability, improved interior structure and technology for rapid cleaning, and proprietary infrared sensors for stabilizing temperature, CO2, and humidity, the Cell IQ™ CO2 series is the new generation of incubators for all your research needs.

Ultimate Environmental Consistency for your Cells
A consistent environment is important for your cells. Furthermore, you shouldn’t have to worry whether what your incubator is reading on the outside is actually what your cells are experiencing on the inside. With Cell IQ™, quick recovery and precise CO2 control is achieved utilizing a proprietary single-beam, dual detector infrared (IR2) sensor. Following door openings, full CO2 recovery is achieved within 2 minutes, without overshoot.

New Optimized Touch Screen for Intuitive Control
A color LCD touch panel delivers full control over different parameters. Control can be performed with gloved fingers. A standard USB port is provided for convenient log data transfer to a USB memory stick and to a PC. The data log period is 1.5 months using 2-minute intervals.

Shelf Channels are now an integral part of the chamber, opening up more space for trays, allowing storage of more cell culture containers.

Ideal for Highly Regulated or Sensitive Applications
The combination of Sterisonic GxP incubator performance functions permit use with confidence in high-value cell protocols among difficult-to-grow cell lines, cells highly sensitive to contamination, ultra-sensitive media and reagents, or protocols that require strict isolation and decontamination between processes. The 19M is especially popular for in vitro fertilization (IVF), genetic research, regenerative medicine and other protocols that require CO2 and sub-ambient (hypoxic) or above-ambient oxygen control.

Decontamination System

  • The unique Sterisonic H2O2 decontamination system limits downtime to less than three hours when total chamber decontamination with verification is desired.
  • All interior components and CO2 sampling loop are decontaminated in situ with no need for removal or autoclaving
  • Active background contamination control fights contamination while cell culture protocols are in process
  • The patented SafeCell UV system scrubs interior airflow to destroy airborne and humidity pan contaminants
  • Exclusive inCu-saFe® copper enriched stainless steel interior surfaces assure constant germicidal protection

Active Background Decontamination Control

The passive resistance of copper-enriched stainless steel surfaces (InCu-saFe®) and SafeCell UV technology both work together to remove airborne contaminants in situ. Active background decontamination is constantly on, so you can continue with your work while having the confidence in knowing you have one of the cleanest environments possible. The UV sterilization occurs within the walls of the incubator as well so you don’t have to worry about your cells being affected. This contamination control extends to thermophilic organisms as well.

CO2 Control

The Panasonic single beam, dual detector infrared (IR2) CO2 sensor offers unprecedented control, accuracy and stability over CO2 levels at all time. The IR2 sensors provides ultra-fast recovery (2 minutes) without overshoot and maintains precise CO2 calibration even during periods of frequent incubator access and multiple door openings.

O2 Control

Panasonic Multigas Incubators offer a non-depleting design for precise O2 control with fast response to door openings. The maintenance-free zirconia solid-state sensor has a high degree of precision, a long service life and does not require fine adjustment. Through accurate determination of the chamber O2 level the microprocessor injects either nitrogen gas or oxygen as required.

  • A zirconia oxygen sensor maintains sub-ambient O2 levels from 1% to 18%. Additionally, enriched O2 levels from 22% to 80% are enabled with proper safety precautions.
  • Nitrogen gas bubbler accelerates recovery of chamber humidity levels following door openings.
  • An electronic P.I.D. control maintains accurate temperature and gas setpoints over the entire system range
  • cellIQ™ includes an automatic gas switchover system that changes from the primary to secondary gas cylinder for either oxygen or nitrogen; an optional second gas switchover system is available for CO2.

Temperature and Humidity Control

The patented Direct Heat and Air Jacket heating system and microprocessor control manages setpoint temperature through multiple, variable warming points. Furthermore, the automatic optical sensor in the water pan advises when the water level is low. Filling and cleaning the humidity pan is also easy.
